Fabric-Shield
Storm Panels
Wayne-Dalton FABRIC-SHIELD Storm Panels are a highly-effective
alternative to steel or aluminum hurricane panels. These PVC coated
woven fabric panels are tested to block wind, rain and storm-driven
projectiles. Yet FABRIC-SHIELD panels are lightweight, easy-to-handle
and translucent, allowing light to enter.
Features
& Benefits:
- Florida Product Approved #FL2187
- Attractive - No exterior housing
or tracks. Natural Color.
- Convenient - Panels may be rolled,
laid flat or hung for compact, easy storage.
- Lightweight - Weigh a fraction
of steel or aluminum panels and still meet stringent test protocols.
- No special tools required -
Panels attach to structure with grommets.
- Quick to deploy and remove.
- Translucent, allowing diffused
light to enter.
Size
Information:
For
every Fabric-Shield Panel, there is a Span and Non-Span measurement.
The SPAN measurement is the distance between the center points
of two parallel grommets, and has a maximum measurement of 108”.
Measure from the exact point where you will install a fastener,
to the exact point where you will install the opposite fastener
to get a Span measurement.
The
Non-Span dimension is the measurement between the edges of the
non-grommet sides of the panel and has a maximum of 144.” Try
to overlap the Non-Span measurement 2” top and 2” bottom for the
best hurricane damage prevention.
All measurements must be rounded up to the nearest inch.
Standard
Sizes: Standard sizes are available in any span dimension of 33”, 38”,
40”, 42”, 45”, 57”, 60”, 66”, 69”, 76”, 79”, 82”, 84”, 87”, and
108” sizes. For the non-span dimension, panels are available in
2” increments starting at 12” and continuing up to 144” (max.)
Custom
Sizes: Custom sizes are available in 1” increments for both the span
and non-span dimensions. Round up to the nearest 1” increment
when measuring for storm panels. Limitations: Span maximum is
108”, minimum is 9”; Non-span maximum is 144”, minimum is 12”.

Pull-Down Storm Shutters
Wayne-Dalton
FABRIC-SHIELD Pull-Down Storm Shutters are the newest product
in the Fabric-Shield family. This revolutionary new product is
designed to cover windows, doors and other home openings to protect
against damage caused by wind, rain, and storm-driven projectiles.
The patented design of this shutter utilizes an architecturally
pleasing 4” square canister and quickly operates by simply pulling
the fabric barrier down until it locks in the closed position.
The
units are shipped almost fully assembled, allowing for final assembly
to be done in just a few minutes, thereby saving significant labor
costs.
Storm
shutters are perfect for second floor or high-rise applications,
since it can be opened and closed from inside the room. Storm
Shutters are also perfect for the elderly or disabled, since it
requires no lifting, tools, or assembly to deploy before a storm.
The fabric panels are UV, mold, and mildew resistant, and can
be used as a sunshade all year round.
Features
& Benefits:
- Florida Product Approved #FL2753. Texas
Dept. of Insurance approved

Size
Information:
Storm
Shutter have a Span dimension (left fastener
center to right fastener center) and a Non-Span dimension (overall
unit height). Storm Shutters must be installed with the shutter
canister at the top of the window, allowing the shade to pull
down from the top to the bottom of the window.
Pull-Down
Shutter sizes are available in 1/4” increments for both the span
and non-span dimensions. Round to the nearest 1/4” increment when
measuring for storm shutters. Limitations: Span minimum is 15”,
maximum is 84” and Non-Span minimum is 16”, maximum is 82”.

Fabric-Shield™ Storm Panels are made of PVC coated fabric that
is tested to block wind, rain, and storm-driven projectiles to
meet stringent building code requirements. The fabric is a natural
translucent white color enabling homeowners to have more light
in the house during the day. This is very helpful if a storm has
knocked out power, or for those homeowners who leave the panels
up for an extended period of time.
Unlike other steel and aluminum panels, The Fabric-Shield™ Storm Panels are lightweight
and easy to handle. In fact, they are three to eight times lighter
than most metal storm panels. Other advantages to homeowners are
that the panels allow for compact storage because they can be
rolled up, laid flat or hung up, and they do not have sharp edges
that can cause injury.
How does Fabric-Shield™ protect your home?
How does Fabric-Shield™
protect your home? High winds and rain are the primary causes
of hurricane-inflicted loss of life and property damage. Keeping
the integrity of your home intact is the best protection against
high wind damage. Storm-driven projectiles can break through unprotected
windows and glass doors, causing a complete envelope failure of
your home (when air pressure inside the home creates increased
lift on the roof.) Fabric-Shield™ prevents rain and wind damage if
a projectile breaks a glass door or window by creating an air
pressure vacuum seal. Unlike aluminum or steel storm panels, Fabric-Shield™ is made from a unique, woven fabric which
is easy and safe to handle in high wind conditions. Fabric-Shield™ panels take up little
room to store, and deploy quickly. The woven fabric allows for
protection of all shapes and sizes of windows and doors, allowing
the most flexibility when installing panels next to complex architectural
design elements. If you need hurricane protection, Fabric-Shield™ Storm Panels are the
innovative solution you have been looking for to protect your
family and home
